Pastor Dan and Ginger Work

Pastor Dan and Ginger Work arrived in Chewelah feeling like they have “come home.”  They both enjoy the mountains, hiking, picking huckleberries, snow, and being outdoors, since they spent fifteen years in Canada as missionaries. Ginger was raised south of Newport, WA and always wanted to return to this area.

A western transplant, Dan was born in Philadelphia, PA and attended LeTourneau College in Texas. He grew to appreciate the mountains and forests of the northwest when he served for two summers in Alaska, and then also when he was assigned to Chilanko Forks, B.C., Canada as a new missionary with the Indian people. He and Ginger met in Alaska at a Bible camp and were married in Williams Lake, B.C. They have spent 39 years in the ministry, in both missionary service with Arctic Missions (now Interact) and in the pastorate. Dan has served churches in Lillooet, B.C.; Clackamas, Oregon; Ekalaka, Montana; Murdo, South Dakota; Grangeville, Idaho; and Culdesac, Idaho before coming to Chewelah. He is ordained with the Evangelical Free Church of America.

Ginger and Dan have three grown children and five grand-children.  Ginger has been active in aiding in the ministry in every place they have gone. She is a chalk artist and performs chalk presentations featuring black light chalk and music with a message that is applicable for children, teens, or adults. She is also an author, having had a teen mystery series published by Moody Press which is being re-released independently, and is working on the newest book in The Keys to the Kingdom series which follows Mistral Wind from the North. See her website at www.virginiaawork.com for further details.

Dan’s sermons are expository in style and he loves a good Bible study discussion around a kitchen table or in a living room. He has a servant heart and loves to minister in practical ways to the needs of others. His hobbies include hiking, camping, reading, and doing Suduko puzzles. Ginger’s hobbies are much the same except for Suduko, and also include painting with acrylics, music, crafts and growing roses.
