OUR CHURCH

With the help of EFCA pastors from Deer Park and Colville, Chewelah Evangelical Free Church was incorporated in March, 2001.  The church called their first pastor in June 2002.

Since that time, the group has developed a distinct personality that is committed to the centrality of the Word of God, genuine worship, and a warm welcome for all who attend.  An exciting “After School Special” ministry grew (and will continue) at the public elementary school, and the church is active in the “Priority One” outreach at both the middle and high schools. Plans are being made to start a Youth Bible Fellowship Group, similar to the wonderful Home Fellowship Groups that have sprung up in a number of locations.

Our church includes small-town folks ranging from toddler age to several members in their 80s who are fondly referred to as our “Senior Saints”!  People come from as far as Arden and Loon Lake – and across the mountain toward Usk -- to find the fellowship and Bible preaching they are looking for in a church.

Services are held in the Senior Center in the middle of town -- our priority has not been to build a building, but to see God build up the Body of Christ. God is growing a committed and caring fellowship that is reaching out to its community and world with the “Evangel”—the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God!
